L.A.-based firm purchases apartments near San Antonio Airport

A Los Angeles firm is the new owner of an apartment complex near the San Antonio airport.

San Francisco-based real estate investment company Hamilton Zanze sold the Salado Springs apartments at 12727 Vista Del Norte to DB Capital out of Los Angeles, according to a news release.

A spokesperson for Hamilton Zanze declined to reveal the sale price. Salado Springs was last valued at $38.3 million, according to Bexar County property records.

During its ownership tenure, Hamilton Zanze made significant improvements.

The 325-unit Salado Springs was built in 1997, but Hamilton Zanze made many exterior and interior improvements since it took over the property in 2015.

The complex comes with one-, two- and three-bedroom units averaging 856 square feet. It also has a resort-style pool and spa, 24-hour fitness center, movie theater, picnic area with barbecues, covered parking, and a dog park.

Monthly rent currently averages $1,080 to $1,820 according to Apartments.com.

It's unclear what the change in ownership means for residents. MySA reached out to DB Capital for comment.
